About me
Who am I?
Communication is key to understanding.
I was born in Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital city of the Basque Country (Spain), but I consider myself a world citizen. After leaving home to study at the University of Salamanca, I have lived in different countries, until I finally settled in West Yorkshire (England) in 2011.
I first came to work as a Foreign Language Assistant in a secondary school. At the same time, I started working in the translation and interpreting world. My first client gave me the opportunity to work in the medical field and I absolutely loved it. So, when I finished as an FLA, I enrolled on a Masters degree in Medical-Healthcare Specialised Translation.
During my last year at Salamanca I also worked in several Tourism Congresses. I ended up so fascinated about what goes into the touristic experience, that I enrolled for the third time at university for a BA in Tourism Science, which I still pursue along with my many other activities.
From this, I have become very active and engaged in many professional associations. I belong to ASETRAD (Spanish association of translators, editors and interpreters), to the ITI as an associate member (AITI), and am also a Committee member for MedNet (ITI Medical & Pharmaceutical Network) and for YTI (Yorkshire Translators & Interpreters).
Following the advice "love what you do, do what you love" I have united my two passions, languages and travel, into my way of life.
